Cheryl Barnett is a USPTA-P1, USPTR-Professional and Wheelchair certified professional who has been teaching over 18 years. Cheryl was ranked number 8 in doubles nationally. Her main objective is to meet the needs of each individual tennis player and help them achieve their desired results. Cheryl works with all levels of WITL teams and specializes in doubles strategies. For the past two years, Cheryl has been a tennis instructor at Anthem Country Club and starting on August 1st will be the Head Pro at Anthem Community Center. Prior to that, she taught for seven years at La Camarilla Tennis Club in Scottsdale and 11 years at the Phoenix Tennis Center.
Nick Blackwood has been a teaching professional for the past 16 years, during which time he was the Director of Tennis for the Breakers West Country Club and the Junior Tennis Director for The Breakers located in Palm Beach, Florida. Currently he is offering private instruction out of his facility in Gilbert, Arizona. Along with coaching individual juniors to successful collegiate careers and junior teams for the USTA Florida Section, he has joined Andrei Pavel on tour part time since 1996. He also holds a USPTR teaching certification.
Jason Gerardo, Gold Key Racquet Club
Jason Gerardo, born and raised in Arizona, was a top ranked junior in
the Southwest and later went on to win the NJCAA National Championship.
Jason has been working with beginners up to the professional level for
past 15 years. For the past six years, Jason has trained with Nick
Bollettieri and has been certified by his prestigious tennis academy. His
junior’s “Future Tennis Academy” is known for providing individual player
attention. Jason shapes his teaching style with positive mental
toughness, on-court conditioning and the ability to develop player’s strength to
their full potential. In addition, he has developed a successful
college placement program. Jason still competes in national and money
tournaments to keep in shape mentally and physically.
